Greaves and Gordon Team Test for 2008 CORR

Johnny Greaves and Robby Gordon provide a formidable 1-2 test punch for the new Greaves CORR off road racing trucks

Off road racing legends Johnny Greaves and Robby Gordon teamed up on some testing for Greaves’ new Mean P4 Monster Energy Off Road trucks this past weekend at Stateline Off Road Race Track just outside Las Vegas.

On Friday Greaves put his new truck to task, and in the process topped his best lap times ever at the facility – which was met with high approval from the guys at Toyota Racing Designs (TRD) regarding the performance of the engine package. With off road photographer Bo Bridges taking some shots and Monster Energy-backed Shannon Campbell checking out the action, Greaves continued to put his truck through the motion on the rugged track.

“We ended up having a few injector issues that we never got figured out by the end of the day. Still, this is a real fast truck,” said Greaves. “We don’t want to show up to the first race with our pants down.” Making plans for the upcoming CORR Series, Greaves and his team enlisted the additional opinion of NASCAR racer and Monster Energy-backed Baja legend Robby Gordon to help further shake down the new trucks that Greaves and his team built for the Herbst family. Gordon, who was in town for a NASCAR Cup race, hopped at the chance to get in a few hot laps and set the weekend’s best times in Greaves’ built trucks – a 54.01 and a 54.05.

“It was a solid weekend of testing highlighted by some good meetings on the upcoming CORR season,” said Monster Energy’s Joe Parsons. “The Greaves team did an excellent job getting the new trucks ready and having Robby Gordon there to help test them worked out real well. We’re looking forward to the CORR opener April 26-27 at the Los Angeles County Fairplex.”
