The Parker 425 is the first win for the Weyhrich Trick Truck since the 2012 Vegas to Reno Desert Off-Road Race in the Best In The Desert Association Series.
Gary told OFF-ROAD LIVE! today, "depending on how the MINT 400 goes, we might go for the BITD series points and avoid wasting our time in Mexico this year".
Class winners in this include, in the 3 lap competition: 1100 Bob Elio, 1500 Harley Letner, 2000 Britney & Tamara Myers, 2400 Tim Carolan, 6000 Todd Jackson, 6100 Brett Sourapas, 7200 Gary Messer, 8025 Macrae Glass.
In the 2 lap competition: 1800 Jim Bunn, 700 Billy Bunch, 1700 Garett Allred.
The 2015 event, will become known as one of the most cheated racing events in desert racing. Bryce Menzies was nabbed cutting miles off the course and eventually left the event. Reportedly, after being caught short-coursing, the team left the competition. No mechanical reason was given for their 'announced' DNF (Did Not Finish).
Jimmy Beaver slammed into the back of a Jeep Speed car, rolling it over on its lid. The victim driver, said late Saturday, they would protest Beavers irresponsible driving.
"The Main Pit experience: More then a few cars missed pit road when entering the infield for Main. Some of the cars/trucks were flagged down and directed (by random pit guys) back to the actual pit road w/25mph speed limit. The cars/trucks that weren't flagged down, or ignored them, short cut pit road, one of which was able to make a pass on a car in the same class. I heard BITD getting a lot of calls on the radio from people trying to give out vehicle numbers. Once the first car short cut pit road others followed, and the dust made it hard to see the actual pit road. BITD sent a truck and a flagman down to direct people but somehow the turn was missed by more racers."
