Greaves returns to PRO-2 CORR Off-Road Racing

After an eight year absence from PRO-2 competition, six-time CORR champion Johnny Greaves, will compete again in the two-wheel drive full size-truck division of Championship Off-Road Racing. Just a couple of weeks ago, Monster Energy approached Greaves Motorsports about adding a PRO-2 truck to their racing stable.

Fortunately the #22 Monster Energy Forest County Potawatomi Toyota Tundra PRO-4 was practically ready for the season opener, so Johnny and his crew chief and brother Curt, were up to the task.

With only five weeks to prepare, the team called upon Ross Hoek Motorsports to supply the team with their PRO-2 chassis kit. As arguably the best PRO-4 chassis builders in the world, Greaves Motorsports took on the challenge to build their PRO- 2 in just four weeks. This left the final week for a quick test session.

"Ross's truck is a proven design and race tested," commented Johnny Greaves. "RHM had everything we needed in stock and ready for delivery. We like to do things our own way, but we're all about light and strong, and the RHM chassis provides both."

Less than one week after picking up the chassis components, the Greaves removed their PRO-2 chassis from the jig and began the sheetmetal work. A few days later the chassis was on its wheels. Just after two weeks the team was waiting for the powerplant and its rear end. Johnny and Curt are planning to test the truck just three weeks after starting the build.

"We couldn't have done it without the RHM chassis kit," stated crew chief Curt Greaves. "Ross and his crew have thousands of hours in the design alone and it shows in the quality of the components and ease of the build."

"Ross Hoek Motorsports is very proud to have helped Greaves Motorsports make the step into PRO-2," commented Ross Hoek. "Last year we got a ton of input from Brendan Gaughan and Dan Vandenhuvel when they drove our truck while I was injured. We really look forward to Johnny and Curt's feedback to make our chassis not only the easiest PRO-2 to build, but also THE BEST PRO-2 to build. This a huge step towards reaching our goal since our initial concept back in 2003."

The first Championship Off-Road Racing event of the year is April 26-27, at The Fairplex in Pomona, CA. Watch Johnny Greaves perform double duty in PRO-4 and PRO-2 competition.
