NOTICE OF OPEN HOUSE California Department of Parks and Recreation
The public is invited to an open house to learn about an effort to review the organization structure of the California Department of Parks and Recreation (Department) – the Organizational Structure Opportunities Project (Project). Through this Project, the Department seeks to identify opportunities to elevate and strengthen all of its programs, including the Division of Boating and Waterways (DBW).
The open house will provide a forum for the public to learn about the Project from the Department, and for the Department to hear from stakeholders. Members of the California Boating and Waterways Commission have been invited to attend; the commissioners will not be taking any action on any matters at this open house.

The State of California Parks and Recreation are planning to the Off Highway Vehicle Program and Boating and Waterways.
"The California Department of Parks and Recreation serves the public by bringing families and friends together and providing and wide array of recreational opportunities for the benefit and enjoyment of all people while protecting and preserving California’s most significant natural and cultural resources. The Department accomplishes this not only through delivering services to 280 parks across the state, but also through programs that support local, regional and national recreation activities.
The Division of Boating and Waterways brings together a body of knowledge as the state’s expert in recreational boating-related matters, including public access, safety and education, marine law enforcement, and consumer and environmental protection."
